TÜV SÜD certifies 3D printing of LEHVOSS high-temp polyamide-based filament on Ultimaker S5 Pro Bundle

MOT South has certified 3D printing from LEHVOSS Group LUVOCOM 3F PAHT 9825 NT filament on the Ultimaker S5 Pro Bundle.

The certification was commissioned by LEHVOSS and Ultimaker and includes both the mechanical properties of the high-temperature polyamide-based material and the production of test specimens, which is made up of dimensional tolerances, filament production, the printing process and emissions from the construction of parts.

TÜV SÜD carried out an extensive test process that included an on-site inspection of the Ultimaker and LEHVOSS production facilities as well as a quality audit of the S5 machine, the parallel printing of specimens and tests for geometric accuracy. In its assessments, TÜV SÜD also considered mechanical properties, raw materials and emissions.

The inspection and certification organization regards the certification of such processes as a “critical milestone” on the way to competitive production with 3D printers, which helps the industry to recognize the difference between the technology as a prototyping tool and a manufacturing tool.
